Overview

WiFi Analyzer — WiFi Password & Security Scanner ("App") is published by Epsilon Developers, an independent software publishing brand operated by Satyam Kushwaha and Anurag Mahajan ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, processed, disclosed, and protected when you use the App. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy.

â„šī¸
This policy applies exclusively to the WiFi Analyzer Android application. It does not apply to other products or websites that may be linked from within the App.

1Data We Collect

The App is designed as a local-first tool. Most data it processes never leaves your device. The table below describes every category of data the App touches.

External DNS / Host
L. Technical / Diagnostics Device model, Android version, language settings, crash reports, performance diagnostics, error logs On-device / aggregate
âš ī¸
Speed Test: When you run a speed test, your device connects directly to Cloudflare's public measurement servers (speed.cloudflare.com). Your IP address is visible to Cloudflare as part of this standard network request. WiFi Analyzer does not receive, log, or store this IP address. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy ↗.

2Local Storage & Security

The App primarily stores operational and user-generated information locally on your device using Android local storage technologies including SQLite databases, SharedPreferences, and encrypted storage mechanisms.

All data remains under your control. Most scan results, speed test history, security reports, LAN scan results, settings, and application data are stored in the App's private sandbox directory, which is not accessible to other apps.

Encrypted Storage

WiFi credentials saved via the WiFi Vault are encrypted using AES-256 before being written to the database. The App does not transmit, upload, or share saved credentials to any server or third party.

Data Deletion

Users may delete locally stored information through App Settings → Clear all local data, or by uninstalling the App. Uninstalling removes all App data as required by Android's app sandbox model.

â„šī¸
We do not operate servers that store your personal data. There are no accounts, no cloud sync, and no remote database. Your data lives on your device and nowhere else.

3How We Use Information

Information is used solely to power the features you interact with:

  • WiFi Scanner & WPS Checker: Scan results are displayed in real time, optionally saved to local scan history. BSSID prefixes are looked up against a bundled offline vendor database — no network request is made.
  • Security Report / Audit: WiFi scan data is combined with a locally-run rule engine to generate a security risk score and actionable recommendations. All analysis is on-device.
  • Speed Test: HTTP requests are sent to Cloudflare's public endpoints. Throughput and latency metrics are parsed and displayed, then saved to local history.
  • Channel Analyzer: Uses on-device WiFi scan data to compute channel congestion and recommend the least-congested channel.
  • LAN Scanner: ARP and ICMP probe packets are sent to IP addresses on your local subnet to discover connected devices. This traffic never leaves your local network.
  • WiFi Vault: Stores WiFi credentials you enter yourself, encrypted on your device. WiFi Analyzer cannot read passwords saved by Android. Credentials are not transmitted anywhere.
  • QR Code Sharing: Generates QR codes encoding WiFi network credentials (SSID and password) for user-initiated sharing. QR codes are created locally and shared only when explicitly triggered by the user.
  • DNS Lookup: Sends a DNS query to a public DNS resolver for the domain you enter. The queried domain is visible to the resolver as part of the standard query. WiFi Analyzer does not log or store the domains you look up.
  • SSL Inspector: Establishes a TLS connection to the hostname you enter to retrieve its SSL certificate details. The target host sees a connection from your device's IP address. WiFi Analyzer does not log or store the hosts you inspect.
  • Academy: Tracks lesson completion and quiz scores locally. This data is never synced to any cloud service.
  • Advertising: Google AdMob displays ads in the free version. This requires sharing your Android Advertising ID with Google.
  • In-App Purchases: Subscription transactions are handled by Google Play Billing. We receive only a subscription status flag and product ID.
  • App Improvement: Crash reports and performance diagnostics help us improve app stability and resolve technical issues.

4App Permissions

The App requests the following permissions. Each is necessary for the corresponding functionality. By granting permissions, you consent to their use as described.

4.1 Location Permission

Android requires location permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) to read WiFi scan results and BSSID data. This is an OS-level requirement — without it, the WiFi API returns empty results. Location permission is used solely to enable WiFi scanning and is not used for continuous location tracking, GPS monitoring, or background location collection.

4.2 Network Access Permission

Used to analyze WiFi networks, perform speed tests, discover devices on the local network, retrieve network configuration details, and generate diagnostics. ACCESS_WIFI_STATE and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE are read-only; the App does not modify your WiFi settings.

4.3 Storage Permission

May be required on certain Android versions to save generated reports, export diagnostic information, store speed test results, save security reports, and save or share QR codes generated by the App. QR codes generated by the App may encode WiFi network credentials including network names (SSID) and passwords; they are generated locally and shared only when explicitly initiated by the user. The App does not access personal files, photographs, videos, documents, or other device content unless explicitly selected by the user or required by a user-initiated action.

4.4 Notification Permission

The App may request optional notification permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) to notify users when scans are completed, display speed test completion alerts, provide security report notifications, display subscription-related notices, and deliver important App updates. Notifications can be disabled at any time through Android device settings.

4.5 User Consent & Revocation

By granting permissions requested by the App, you consent to the collection, processing, and use of information necessary to provide the corresponding functionality. You may revoke any permission at any time via Settings → Apps → WiFi Analyzer → Permissions on your device. Revoking permissions may limit or disable certain App features.

✅
Revoking location permission disables WiFi scanning features but does not affect Speed Test, Academy, WiFi Vault, or Settings.

5Advertising

The free version of WiFi Analyzer displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. No advertisements are displayed to active PRO subscribers or lifetime purchase holders.

Google AdMob may collect and process information including:

  • Android Advertising ID (AAID) — a resettable identifier for interest-based advertising
  • Device model and Android version
  • Approximate location (country/region level — not precise GPS)
  • App interaction events and advertising performance metrics
  • IP address for ad delivery

Such information is governed by Google's privacy policies. We do not control how Google AdMob processes the information it collects through its services.

Opting Out of Personalised Ads

You may opt out of personalised advertising at any time by going to Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID on your Android device, or by upgrading to WiFi Analyzer PRO to remove all ads entirely. Even after opting out, you may still see contextual (non-personalised) ads.

Users are encouraged to review Google's Privacy Policy ↗ before using features that interact with advertising services.

6Analytics & Diagnostics

The App may collect diagnostic and analytical information to improve stability, performance, and user experience. This information is used to:

  • Improve App stability and resolve crash issues;
  • Monitor and diagnose technical errors and performance bottlenecks;
  • Understand aggregated feature usage patterns to prioritize improvements;
  • Improve application performance and responsiveness;
  • Detect and prevent misuse or abuse of the App.

Where reasonably possible, analytical information is aggregated or de-identified before processing. We do not use diagnostic data to identify individual users or track their personal activity patterns across other applications or services.

â„šī¸
Diagnostic data — such as crash logs — is stored locally on your device. Aggregate performance signals may be collected by the Flutter framework or underlying Android platform services, but are not tied to any personally identifiable information by the Developer.
